Three big announcements

Tuesday 23 July 2024: After producing more than 440 episodes, I have a special treat in store for you.

A big thank you to everyone who has listened to my podcast and to all the past and current patreon supporters who show their support every month. Your support by listening to each episode keeps me finding people from the sewing community for you to listen to each week.

Top 20 Countdown

Have you ever wondered what were the top 20 episodes? From August I’ll be publishing the countdown of the Top 20 episodes with a retrospective introduction so you can find each guest.

You’ll hear how each of these guests were contributing to the sewing community and how they’ve continued to do so since being on Sew Organised Style podcast for SewOver50 on Instagram.

While you’re listening to the Top 20 Countdown I’ll be working in the background to create the podcasts with the guests many of you nominated last month.

Oh and before I forget, I have a couple of podcast recordings that are to be published in September so there will be some new podcasts published while the Top 20 Countdown rocks on.

Tutorials tailored for you

Since I’ve been developing short tutorials on my Instagram accounts Velosews and Sew Organised Style, I’ve been asked to develop skill building tutorials so we can stay connected with our online sewing friends and we do this by using the device we own.

The aim of these tutorials is to help people be more self-reliant with their technology and apps on their device. They’re only short tutorials.

Here’s a question for you. What app or device do you want to be able to use better?

Leave your comments on this post so I can include this as I develop these tutorials.

SewOver50 milestones in August 2024

Now for the really fun celebration ahead.

On 18 August 2024, SewOver50 turns 6 years old. That’s not the only milestone.

SewOver50 will have 50,000 followers by that stage too.

Happy birthday SewOver50 on Instagram. Judith Staley created SewOver50 and Sandy Bach is her Editor in Chief, with a global team of social media editors.

Keep an eye out on the SewOver50 account and join in the celebrations ahead.

EverythingFrocktails

Frocktails organisers are special people who work together to bring us events where sewists from all walks of life can get together and socialise in a safe space.

EverythingFrocktails On Instagram and Facebook, I’ve created a community Frocktails noticeboard account where I try and make sure you can find your local Frocktails event.

Some events are run by professional event organisers but the majority are run by likeminded individuals who simply want to bring us together and share our joy of sewing.

Yes. It is ok to touch people’s fabrics too. It’s a safe space right!

I encourage you to always buy your ticket from the organisers. I also encourage you to be kind and thoughtful to the organisers who are volunteers.

Thank you for listening

Many thanks to you for listening, for staying in touch and for being supportive of my creating Sew Organised Style podcast for 5 years now.
