Thursday 31 October 2024: Alma from SewOverItLondon tells us about The Big Sew Off, a 24 hour charity sewathon now in its 3rd year.

The Big Sew Off starts on Thursday 7 November at 10am UK time. Last year the sewing community raised well above their target.

2023 money raised

In this episode, Alma updates up about all the ways we can support this 24 hour fundraising sewathon. The most unique way for sewists to put their sewing time to good use for the community.

The hubs

There are currently 4 Big Sew Off hubs. Make sure you contact the hubs if you want to take part in their hubs

Ray Stitch, Islington, London hub – They’re holding two Freestyle sessions. Book directly with Ray Stitch to join in. All profits go to Mind Charity.

Sew Confident, Glasgow hub – This is the Glasgow hub. Book directly with Sew Confident to join in and support The Big Sew Off.

Jenny Stitches, Burrow-in-Furness hub – Join socially with your fellow sewists at Jenny Stitches.

Sister Mintaka, Coventry hub – This is the Coventry hub. Nice right? Sandeep is fresh from the incredible final of @marksandspencer Dress the Nation. Join in here at Sister Mintaka as well for charity.

The Auld Atelier, Paisley hub – This is the official Paisley hub. Book directly with The Auld Atelier.

Fabrications, London hub – Their Community Craft Club held on Thursday 7 November 2024 will be held in honour of The Big Sew Off to help raise money for Mind Charity.

The Fabric Boutique, Ashby-de-la-Zouch hub- They are joining our sewathon from 10am to 10pm on Thursday 7th November 🥳 Book your 2 hour slot on their website and bring along your own project to sew in this beautiful setting to help us raise money for @mindcharity 💙

Sew Over It is providing 2 patterns so you can sew for others as part of The Big Sew Off.

The Ultimate t-shirt pdf and the Ultimate Wrap Skirt pdf patterns are available to get you to sew for charity.

All profits from the sale of this pattern will go towards the Big Sew Off 2024 and you will be entered into the raffle prize draw.

The Big Sew Off HQ

The Big Sew Off HQ is the gorgeous New Craft House on site in East London for the full 24 hours.

The Sew Over It Team will be sewing at the HQ based at the gorgeous New Craft House in East London, together with many exciting sewing personalities. We’ll be raising money for mental health charity Mind and sewing clothes to donate to Give Your Best.

The whole 24 hours will be live-streamed on YouTube and we’ll be going LIVE on The Big Sew Off Instagram account throughout the sewathon, so make sure you’re following us!
