1. Sew a hat (for yourself or others) or refeature a previous make with a new photo;
2. Use the tag #SewAHat23
3. Have a public account so that we can see you;
4. Only posts please. (Not reels or stories); and
5. Enter from August 14-31 August PST.

There will be random prize winners.

The top 10 hats chosen that have caught the eyes of the SewOver50 editors will be featured in a post after the close of the challenge.

#SewWhatYouNeedJune is a challenge to build upon a hectic #MeMadeMay and a hashtag to give you the impetus to put your plans into action.

Congratulations to founder Zoe @SozoBlog for another very successful MMM. 💐

Whether you’ve participated in MMM this year or cheered 👏 from the sidelines you may have identified some garments you need rather than necessarily want. 🤔

What’s on your list?
– the basics that never let you down;
– developing a coordinated approach to avoid wardrobe orphans: a capsule, travel garments or a colour theme to maximise wear times?
– or even a bit of froth and bubble that you need for those special occasions?

It may be that those unworn garments need a few tweaks/alterations/refashioning to bring them back into rotation! ♻️

There’s no prizes for#SewWhatYouNeedJune …having a “just you” wardrobe is the biggest win of all. 💪

SewOver50 on Instagram has gone from their humble beginnings in August 2018 when Judith (@JudithRosalind the founder) asked “is there a need for a group for older sewists? to now being the largest active sewing community on Instagram. In the words of Helen Reddy, we’re “in numbers too big to ignore!”
